Grasshopper is a Singapore-based quantitative trading technology provider seeking a Network Engineer to join the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. You will help maintain high-performance network environments across global colocation facilities supporting trading operations.

The role emphasizes network automation (Python/Bash), IaC (Ansible/Puppet), and on-call reliability, with exposure to Arista, Cisco, and Juniper hardware.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation and participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 availability.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic Network Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn and contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of our high-performance network environments essential for our trading operations. You will support the team in ensuring the health, performance, and long-term reliability of our network infrastructure across global colocation facilities.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

• Support Low-Latency Connectivity: Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure across global colocation facilities, ensuring critical trading connectivity and high-performance standards.
• Operational Networking: Apply fundamental knowledge of wired and wireless network technologies, including troubleshooting connectivity in enterprise office network setups (e.g., WiFi and Aruba equipment).
• Automation and Monitoring: Actively contribute to network automation efforts using scripting (Python/Bash) and IaC tools (Ansible/Puppet). Help implement and maintain monitoring to track network health.
• Infrastructure Support: Help manage high-performance hardware (Arista, Cisco, Juniper) and security infrastructure.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain clear documentation and participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 high availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a passion for all aspects of networking
• A solid foundation in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Ethernet, layer 2/3 concepts like OSPF, BGP, and Multicast...as well as things like QoS, STP, NAT, etc).
• Hands-on experience with or a strong theoretical understanding of wired and wireless network systems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for network automation tasks.
• Basic experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Interest in high-performance network environments in the financial or trading industry.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Clear networking knowledge at the Cisco CCNP level, evidenced by demonstrable experience and/or verifiable qualifications
