Job summary

Grasshopper Asset Management in Singapore seeks a senior HFT trader or portfolio manager to join our Asia operations. You will develop and execute high-frequency or intraday strategies in a fast-paced market, and optimise trading algorithms with quantitative analysis.

Work closely with trading, research and tech teams to refine models, monitor conditions, and adjust tactics to stay ahead while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong risk controls.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in high-frequency trading or portfolio management with P&L > USD 5mm/year.
• Own or operate successful alphas/strategies and bring them over to Grasshopper.
• Experience with index roll or index arb strategies may be considered.
• Deep knowledge of financial markets and trading technology, with experience trading in multiple regions.
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills; ability to use data and models to drive trading decisions.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex trading strategies and market insights.

We are expanding and seeking experienced Senior HFT Traders or Portfolio Managers to join our team and help drive the success of our trading operations Asia.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-frequency trading and portfolio management, with a deep understanding of financial markets and the ability to make informed and timely decisions.

What you'll be working on:

• Developing and executinghigh-frequency or intraday trading strategies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Managing and optimising trading algorithms and systems, utilising quantitative analysis to identify and capitalise on market opportunities
• Collaborating closely with our trading, research, and technology teams to develop and refine trading models and strategies
• Monitoring market conditions and adjust trading strategies as necessary to stay ahead of changing trends and dynamics
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management

We'd love for you to have:

• Professional experience in high-frequency trading or portfolio management, with a strong track record of success, with a P&L of > USD 5mm/year
• Own or operate successful alphas/strategies, and be willing to bring them over to Grasshopper
• Experience with index roll or index arb strats may be considered
• Deep knowledge of financial markets and trading technology, with experience trading in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, USA CME Futures, Australia, Taiwan or India.
• Candidates with professional trading experience in Hong Kong, China and Korea may also be considered
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and models to drive trading decisions
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex trading strategies and market insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
