Job summary

SBS Transit Limited seeks a dedicated Engineering Technician to maintain ISCS and communication systems, ensuring safety, reliability and system availability. You will coordinate with contractors for in-station, train and tunnel maintenance and respond quickly to faults with repairs.

Applicants should have at least a Higher NITEC / NITEC in Technology and 3 years of engineering experience, plus strong interpersonal and written communication skills with network knowledge.

Qualifications

• Higher NITEC / NITEC in Technology – Computer, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Preferably 3 years of working engineering experience.
• Good interpersonal and writing skills with network knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance of ISCS and communication systems.
• Liaise with contractors for maintenance at stations, trains, tunnels and trackside.
• Ensure rapid fault clearance and perform repairs and rectifications.
• Implement safety plans and eliminate safety hazards.
• Carry out preventive maintenance as scheduled and address faults after inspection.
• Perform other engineering tasks assigned by the Assistant Engineer or Senior Assistant Engineer.
• Ensure fault reports are updated in the data management system and close the Works Order.
• Maintain safety and quality standards as per procedures.

Job description

Primary Objectives of Position

• Participate in the maintenance of both ISCS and Communication Systems to ensure that the safety, reliability and availability of the systems meet the standards agreed with Operations

Major Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance to the work instructions and procedures.

• Liaise with contractors for the maintenance works to be done at stations, trains and tunnels/trackside.

• Ensure fast response to clear system faults and carry out the repair and rectification.

• Ensure Safety plans are implemented and all safety hazards are eliminated.

• Ensure Preventive Maintenance is carried out according to schedule and faults rectify immediately after inspection.

• Perform any Engineering work or tasks as being assigned by Assistant Engineer or Senior Assistant Engineer.

• Ensure the fault report is updated in the data management system and close the Works Order.

The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is

needed.

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• Possess a Higher NITEC / NITEC in Technology – Computer, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

• Preferably at least 3 years of working experience in Engineering.

Knowledge/Skills

• Good interpersonal skill.

• Possess good writing skill and network knowledge.
