Job summary

SBS Transit Limited is seeking a qualified engineer to provide effective enhancement and investigation services for Rolling Stock sections. The role involves technical investigations, failure analysis, endurance testing, and evaluating new modifications before deployment on trains or light rail vehicles.

The position requires a Diploma/ITC/NTC in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITC/NTC in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic) required.
• At least 5 years of working experience in engineering industry will be considered for applicants without the required certificate.
• Knowledge/experience in setting up and implementing system engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical investigations with other sections to resolve problems and modifications.
• Conduct failure studies on defective line replacement units or parts.
• Run endurance tests and simulations on new or alternative parts.
• Evaluate new modifications, spares or equipment before trains or light rail vehicles get implemented.
• Implement modifications for trains.
• Provide support to RS re-railment team during incidents.
• Support Operations during service disruptions.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Primary Objectives of Position

• To provides an effective enhancement & investigation service to all Rolling Stock sections.

The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is needed.

• Perform technical investigation together with other sections in resolving technical problems and modification activities.
• Perform failure study on the defective line replacement unit or parts.
• Perform endurance tests and simulation on new or alternate parts
• Perform trial evaluation of new modification, spare or equipment prior implement on trains or light rail vehicles.
• Implement the modification for trains.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Provide support to RS re-railment team during incident.
• Provide support to Operation during service disruption.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• Diploma/ITC/NTC in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/ Mechatronic Engineering).
• Applicant without the required academic certificate but has at least 5 years of working experience in engineering industry will also be considered.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

• Preferably 5 years of working experience in the areas of engineering system.

Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge in setting up and implementation of system engineering.
