Job summary

MUIS Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura is seeking a District Mufti Associate to bridge religious scholarship with community needs. You will advise MROs, gather ground insights and help design religious guidance across district initiatives.

The role requires at least 8 years in MUIS or Islamic institutions, tertiary education, and ARS Tier 1 certification. A contract basis appointment and strong mentoring skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education is required in any related field.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in MUIS/MUIS-vested entities or mosques or other Islamic institutions.
• Must currently hold ARS – Tier 1 certification.
• Experience in programme planning, religious advisory, or community engagement.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
• Independent worker and able to work under pressure.
• Successful candidate will be appointed on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Religious Scholarship, Guidance & Advisory Support MROs in understanding, contextualising and applying religious guidance, including fatwa, Irsyad and other religious content issued by the Office of Mufti (OOM).
• Ground Engagement & Socio-Religious Synthesis Maintain regular engagement with MROs and mosque communities to understand their religious concerns, experiences, aspirations and emerging needs.
• MRO Capability Development & Mentoring Support the religious and professional development of MROs through mentoring, coaching and regular engagement.
• District Religious Content & CRL Integration Collaborate with the District CRL Lead to align religious content and guidance with district CRL priorities and initiatives.
• Religious Knowledge Development & Institutional Learning Assist the AD RCG in documenting recurring religious questions, emerging issues and feedback from MROs and mosque communities to support institutional learning.
