CICOR Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Mold Design Engineer to develop complete mold designs for precision injection molding projects.

You will perform DFM reviews, create detailed 3D models and assembly drawings, and prepare BOMs to support manufacturing readiness. You will collaborate with project engineers, toolmakers and suppliers to optimize tool manufacturability, participate in mold design reviews, and ensure designs meet performance, quality and timeline targets.

Qualifications

• Certificate or relevant qualification in Mold Design, Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plastic injection mold design.
• Proficient in Siemens NX for 3D mold design, 2D drafting, and detailed drawings.
• Knowledge and experience in Moldflow analysis to support design optimization.
• Good understanding of mold construction, tooling components, machining processes, and injection molding principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify design issues and propose practical solutions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with project engineers and toolmakers.
• Able to manage multiple design assignments independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and mold design in accordance with customer drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare and submit DFM reports within the agreed project timelines.
• Develop complete mold designs, including detailed engineering drawings, mold assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure all assigned design tasks are completed accurately and on schedule in accordance with project milestones.
• Participate actively in mold design reviews to ensure design feasibility, quality, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with project engineers, toolmakers, and other cross-functional teams to continuously improve mold design, enhance tool manufacturability, and optimize the injection molding process.
• Support mold trials together with project engineers to evaluate mold performance, identify design-related issues, and recommend improvements to achieve the required part quality and molding results.
• Review and incorporate design changes and engineering feedback to improve mold functionality, reliability, and production efficiency.

Requirements

• Certificate or relevant qualification in Mold Design, Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plastic injection mold design.
• Proficient in Siemens NX for 3D mold design, 2D drafting, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge and experience in Moldflow analysis, including the interpretation of simulation results to support mold design optimization.
• Good understanding of mold construction, tooling components, machining processes, and injection molding principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify design issues and propose practical engineering solutions.
