Job summary

The Soft Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich, through the Singapore-ETH Centre, invites applications for a full-time researcher position based in Singapore to design, build, and test soft robotic manipulation systems for automated baggage handling inside aircraft cargo holds.

You will integrate sensing and control with machine learning, prototype rapidly, and validate performance through real-world tests, working across mechanical design, actuation, electronics, and software with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building or programming physical systems.
• Experience with prototyping, CAD, fabrication, electronics, and robot integration.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Take soft robotic end-effectors and manipulation subsystems from concept to working prototype.
• Integrate sensing and control with ML algorithms for dexterous baggage manipulation.
• Validate performance through real-world testing and iterative design cycles.
