Job summary

ByteDance's Search E-Commerce team is responsible for the search algorithm powering our global e-commerce business. We apply state-of-the-art machine learning, NLP, CV and multi-modal tech to deliver industry-leading search experiences to billions of monthly users worldwide.

You will work on improving search quality and design end-to-end ranking systems, aiming to increase engagement and GMV. Join a cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine learning applied to search or recommender systems.
• Bachelor's or higher in CS or related field.
• Strong coding skills and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Improve basic search quality and user experience: optimize query analysis and text relevance matching.
• Design and implement end-to-end ranking systems to boost GMV growth.
• Promote ecosystem development, solving matching and scalability challenges for long-term growth.
• Work in a team setting and apply statistics, scripting and programming knowledge.
• Collaborate with platforms where models are deployed.
