Job summary

TotalEnergies in Singapore is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to measure, analyse and monitor P&L, exposure and VaR for Trading Desks across global and Asian energy markets.

You will model, value and monitor market risk for gas, power and LNG, validate transactions, and develop automated dashboards and reports for traders and management using VBA, Python and Alteryx.

Qualifications

• Experience in middle/back office risk roles or control environments.
• Proficiency in risk metrics, VaR and MTM concepts.
• Strong data extraction, cleaning and automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Model, value and analyse market risks for gas, power and LNG portfolios.
• Control physical and financial transactions, validate prices in systems.
• Monitor transaction entry, trading limits and policy compliance.
• Analyse Mark-to-Market valuations and risk positions daily.
• Develop and maintain risk reports for traders and management.
• Collaborate with Traders, Operations, Back Office and Finance teams.
• Improve risk models and data processes; automate daily tasks.
• Create dashboards to provide value-added information to stakeholders.
• Retrieve external data via website parsing or APIs and support automation.

JOB DIMENSION

• The job holder will work in the Global Risk Control department, under the supervision of Middle Office Supervisor, and will seek to measure, analyse and monitor the P&L, exposure and the Value-at-Risk of the Trading Desks.


• The position is based in Singapore and include oversight of both global and Asian energy markets.

ACTIVITIES

Your missions as a Middle Office Analyst include:

• Model, value and analyse market risks for trading activities relating to the portfolio of Gas, Power and LNG


• Control physical and financial transactions, transport, storage and currency exchange operations and validate prices in computer systems


• Monitor the entry of transactions on time, compliance with trading limits and the application of the risk policy to ensure the representativeness and integrity of transactions in the systems


• Analyse Mark to Market valuations, risk positions and realized profits /losses on a daily basis


• Develop and maintain analytical reports on risk positions and trading results for traders and management


• Work closely with Traders, Operations, Back Office and Finance teams to measure and explain the sources of market risk to which portfolios are exposed


• Maintain and improve risk models


• Support, identify and contribute to the improvement of processes and systems


• Optimise files, data processing and data analysis using VBA, Python, Alteryx


• Retrieve external website data (website parsing, API connection, etc)


• Automate daily processes


• Create and automate dashboards to provide value-added information to internal stakeholders
