Job summary

Freight Investor Services in Singapore is seeking an experienced Commodity Broker to join our Singapore office. This mid-level role focuses on generating leads, executing trades, and building client networks in financial and physical markets.

You will promote the company, provide market intelligence, maintain client relationships, travel to meet clients, and contribute to liquidity and price discovery across exchanges and liquidity providers.

Qualifications

• CISI Regs & Derivatives is essential for this broker role.
• Experience as a broker serving commercial clients (financial or physical markets) is required.
• Deep understanding of price risk management is essential.
• Willingness to travel to visit clients is essential.
• Strong quantitative, presentation, and decision-making capabilities are needed.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and self-motivation are important.
• Knowledge of commodity products is desirable.
• Strong client focus with ability to build networks.
• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues is essential.
• Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment with tenacity.
• Team orientated and able to work with diverse groups.
• Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
• Strong IT systems experience, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Promote FIS as a company and provide market intelligence and analysis to clients.
• Arrange trades via voice broking for client execution.
• Create liquidity and price discovery with exchanges, SI’s, MTFs, clearers, prime brokers, and prop traders.
• Maintain and build relationships with other brokers when liquidity is low.
• Maintain existing client relationships and track daily trading activity.
• Solicit feedback from industry participants via calls, surveys, events, and conferences.
• On-board new clients following Compliance and Operations procedures.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities by assessing client needs and financial conditions.
• Perform other duties as required by the company.
