Rolls-Royce / SIA Engineering Company JV is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician (Aerospace/ Shift) to support the lab for daily production, repair development, and process investigations. The role requires a diploma or higher NITEC in Engineering and at least 2 years in a metallurgical lab, with experience in aerospace materials.

This role is primarily responsible for conducting all metallurgical laboratory activities to support daily production, repair development, and process investigation requirements.
Perform quality control testing in the laboratory for daily production, repair development processes, and process investigations (e.g. thermal spray coating microstructure evaluation, welding hardness testing, tensile strength testing, etc.)
Maintain laboratory database to track test samples issued, received, and corresponding evaluation results
Ensure proper storage, documentation, and traceability of all test coupons and evaluation records
Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for all chemical products used in the laboratory
Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of laboratory equipment
Ensure good housekeeping practices are consistently maintained in the laboratory
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies
Coordinate and prepare samples for submission to external testing laboratories as required
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Diploma or Higher NITEC in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in a metallurgical laboratory with knowledge of aerospace materials and control of metallurgical processes
Able to read and interpret work orders and perform in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Willing to perform rotating shift work
Able to wear required PPE, including respirator, safety shoes, and safety glasses
