Job summary

Lidl & Kaufland Asia in Singapore seeks a proactive Merchandiser/Sourcing Specialist to manage end-to-end order processes, price and quality per item, and supplier negotiations. You will work with factories and the product development team to ensure best value and timely follow-up on sampling, with strict adherence to HQ parameters.

The role requires extensive merchandising experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary level education.
• Merchandising experience.
• Technical (material) knowledge for relevant categories.
• Strong negotiator with a commercial mindset.
• Proactively anticipate issues and provide problem solving.
• Works well under pressure and meets fixed deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end order process with factories.
• Define price and quality per item to generate best value for customers.
• Monitor factories for continuous improvement and business development.
• Collaborate with product development on sampling and follow-up.
• Manage quotations, price analyses and negotiations within HQ parameters.
• Assist in order allocation within department strategy from HQ.
• Monitor end-to-end process and critical path with merchandising and supply chain teams.
• Provide problem solving to ensure smooth ordering progress.

Job description

• Monitor the whole order process from end to end.
• Responsible for items in price and quality.
• Negotiation with suppliers to achieve the best possible price per item, in the department margin targets as defined by headquarters.
• Be accountable for business measurability. This includes profitability, delivery performance and quality of the articles.

What you'll do

• Main contact point to the factories to coordinate the end-to-end process.
• Define the right price and quality per item and generate best value for money for our customer.
• Contribute to the evaluation and monitor the factories for continuous improvement and business development.
• Work closely with the product development team on development and support the follow up on the sampling process.
• Manage quotations, price analysis and price negotiations with suppliers within the negotiation parameters set by headquarters.
• Help to manage the order allocation process within the department strategy and the set framework from headquarters.
• Monitors the end-to-end process and critical path management within the merchandising team and through day-to-day liaison with supply chain and supporting departments.
• Manage the ordering progress and provide problem solving wherever necessary.

• Proficient in MS Office/Google Workspace (specifically Excel/Sheets and Power Point/Slides).
• Willing to travel as required.
