Singapore General Hospital Pte Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide psychosocial support, counselling and practical assistance to patients and families dealing with illness-related challenges.

You will work within a team of doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff to alleviate social and emotional burdens and help patients regain functioning. Applicants should hold a Social Work degree (BASW or BSSW) and, ideally, SASW registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts major in Social Work or Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work required.
• Preferably a registered Social Worker with SASW or equivalent.

• Provide psychosocial support, counselling and practical assistance to patients and families facing emotional, social and financial problems arising from illness.
• Collaborate with a team of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other hospital staff to restore social and psychological functioning.

You will provide psychosocial support, counselling and practical assistance to patients and their families who are facing personal, social, emotional and financial problems arising from the illness, so as to alleviate their problems and regain their social and psychological functioning. You will use applied specialised skills in attending to patients and families and work with a team of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other hospital staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts major in Social Work, Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work
• Relevant work experience will be an added advantage
• Preferably a registered Social Worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW)
