Job summary

PeopleSolve is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Singapore to oversee venipuncture, specimen labeling, and dispatch in line with lab protocols. You will operate the Laboratory Information System for orders, results, and specimen tracking, collaborate with nursing, clinicians, and admin to streamline workflow, and supervise a team while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise blood collection and dispatch of properly labeled specimens per protocols.
• Navigate Laboratory Information System for order entry, sample receipt, result query and result entry.
• Collaborate with Lab, Nursing, Clinicians, and admin to improve workflow and processes.
• Perform laboratory tests or POCT as assigned, alert on critical values with documentation.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on instrumentation and safety equipment.

About The Role

• Perform and supervision of blood collection and dispatch properly labeled specimens to the laboratory in accordance with laboratory protocols and standard universal precautions.
• Navigate Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as order entry (only if required), sample receipt, result query and result entry.
• Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (i.e. Lab, Nursing, Clinicians, admin) to improve workflow and processes of the section.
• Perform laboratory test or POCT if assigned. Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols. Alert appropriate personnel of critical values with relevant documentation.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation and safety equipment. Notify appropriate personnel when these instruments malfunction.

What We Are Looking For

• BSc or equivalent to Medical Laboratory Science
• At least 5 years of experience in performing venipuncture for blood specimens collection and 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in supervising a team.
• Basic computer literacy in proficiency in laboratory information system.
