Job summary

SUPCON is seeking a hands-on engineer at the intersection of hardware and software to design, source, and build experimental production lines. You will program IA2-enabled systems, not classic PLCs, and ensure lines are both functional and demonstrative of IA2 capabilities.

You will own the end-to-end process, from equipment selection and BOM creation to procurement, assembly, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting, delivering tangible, real-world control logic and hardware-software

Qualifications

• Strong mechatronics fundamentals: mechanics, wiring, sensors, actuators, pneumatic/motor selection.
• Foundations in software development and communications debugging — explain hardware issues to software engineers.
• Able to own the loop end-to-end: equipment selection, BOM, procurement, assembly, wiring, commissioning, troubleshooting.

About you

• You like working at the seam of hardware and software — and want your code to move real motors, valves, and product down a line.
• You can speak software's language well enough to tell software engineers exactly what's happening on the hardware side.
• You enjoy building something physical from scratch and making it run.

What we're looking for

• Strong mechatronics fundamentals: mechanical design, electrical wiring, sensors, actuators, pneumatic/motor selection, plus the tuning and assembly to make it all work.
• Foundations in software development and communications debugging — enough to describe what's happening to a software engineer in their own terms.
• Able to own the loop end-to-end: equipment selection, BOM, procurement follow-up, assembly, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
