Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Mechatronic Design Engineer to contribute to machine automation, motion-control systems, test equipment and qualification tooling for semiconductor manufacturing and other high-tech applications.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams to develop and commission PLC, HMI and motion-control solutions, translating requirements into robust machine-control functionality with Thriving collaboration across mechanical, electrical and system engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years in industrial automation, machine control or mechatronic development.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI development, Beckhoff TwinCAT preferred.
• Knowledge of motion-control, servo systems and EtherCAT architectures is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and version control tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement PLC, HMI and motion-control solutions from requirements.
• Translate system requirements into structured software and machine-control functionality.
• Create and maintain software docs, flow diagrams and test procedures.
• Configure, test and troubleshoot motion-control systems and servo drives.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and system engineers for integration and validation.
• Design and support test and qualification equipment for verification and production.
• Support factory automation initiatives to improve efficiency and quality.
• Apply software quality practices and version-control methodologies.
