Job summary

BD Singapore is seeking a dedicated technician to operate production lines during the night shift, ensuring safety, GMP compliance, and efficient output.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist engineers, and participate in continuous improvement projects while supporting a multi-cultural team. This permanent role requires teamwork and strong mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with 2–5 years’ relevant experience.
• Permanent full-time position, night shift 7pm–7am.
• Able to work cross culture and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to meet production output and quality targets.
• Perform preventive maintenance (Cleaning, Service, Replace).
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to meet safety and quality standards.
• Changeover lines and set up machines for tool/die changes.
• Contribute to machine enhancement and CI projects.
• Write/maintain Standard Work Instructions for assigned operations.
• Support Engineers and Technicians during CI activities.
• Participate in shift handover and Kaizen submissions.

This is a full-time position, 12 hours night shift 7pm to 7am, shift pattern 3/4/4/3.

Job Requirements

General Accountability

• Safety and ISO14001 Environmental accountability. Ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally-friendly workplace by observing Company’s rules and procedures. Active involvement in prevention, elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement and reduction of resource materials.
• Safety & health accountability: Safety and health are important to BD and we encourage the observance of all safety programs and training assigned to you. Such programs are to be attended in a timely manner to ensure that work tasks carried out are in accordance to our safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) accountability. Observing GMP rules and procedures.
• Apply SOP and/or SWI in daily operations.
• Observe BD Code of Ethics
• Reporting up on all incidents / accidents, near misses, deviations from plan and when required, to take part in furtherinvestigations.

Operation Tasks

• Operate machines to meet production output, and other metrics like quality, waste, etc.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance (Cleaning, Service, Replace)
• Perform troubleshooting of machine and tools, equipment failures to meet production targets, safety and quality standards and/or specifications.
• Perform product/machine changeover on the line by tool/die change and machine set-up.
• Initiate, Implement and follow-up on machine enhancement and project assignments.
• Write Standard Work Instruction / Procedure for assigned operation / process
• Implement Corrective and Preventives Actions
• Participate in training and coaching of Technicians and new hires on skills and knowledge on machine operations and adjustments.
• Assist Engineers or Subject Matter Experts for any CI activities.

Supporting Tasks

• Contribute into departments activities that are needed in order to achieve goals set for the department eg. Kaizen submission, team building, safety kaizen submission, 20Keys and others.
• Participate in the discussion and review of team's performance in the daily shift changeover meeting.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiative / activities.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Additional Notes

Our Requirements:

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma holders in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with at least 2-5 years’ relevant experience in the field.
• This is a permanent full-time position, shift 7pm to 7 am.
