SWIFT TECHNICAL (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks a Mechanical Lead to direct the offshore mechanical team, ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards while maintaining critical equipment and systems.

You will coordinate maintenance activities, oversee MAXIMO MMS usage, and liaise with contractors and support teams to deliver reliable operations in line with Client standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in offshore oil installation maintenance and operations.
  • Knowledge of Maximo MMS for maintenance planning and data input.
  • Certification in offshore safety and emergency response requirements.
  • Proven leadership of a mechanical maintenance team in offshore/onshore environments.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily Mechanical Team activities to meet safety and performance targets.
  • Ensure safety, health and environmental standards are followed and critical procedures are in place.
  • Maintain Maximo MMS inputs and manage planned and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Monitor and improve equipment reliability and readiness, including offshore watchkeeping duties.

Job description

Job objective

The Mechanical Lead is responsible for directing and co-ordinating the daily activities of the Mechanical Team and to support the delivery of health, safety and environmental standards, Technical Integrity Standards and Client's Corporate Management System.

Result areas

The Mechanical Lead is responsible to the Maintenance Superintendent for:

General
  • Administration of the Mechanical Department on a day to day basis and informing the Maintenance Superintendent of all developments.
  • Ensuring that all staff including contractors, have adequate information to carry out tasks safely and efficiently, in compliance with control measures and site safety precautions.
  • Reporting incidents and non-conformities.
  • Ensuring that the safety, health and welfare of all the mechanical team are maintained to Client's policy and statutory standards.
  • Acting as Area Authority (Mechanical) for the electronic permit to work system.
  • Managing and controlling isolation/de-isolation certificates and complying with company isolation policy. Adequate records must be kept and updated as required.
  • Monitoring and controlling mechanical and electrical long term isolations. Adequate records must be kept and updated as required.
  • Controlling key lockout box system. Log must be kept up to date.
  • Supporting in the resourcing and development of maintenance operations personnel.
  • Supporting and ensuring mechanical team reach required standard of competency.
  • Acting as Assessor within the Client's competency assessment procedure.
  • Ensuring commitment to the Technical and Operation Integrity Standards for all maintenance, services and engineering works completed by the mechanical team.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of operational budgets and providing monthly forecasts.
  • Liaising with contractors, onshore support teams and other departments, keeping them informed of activities that may affect them.
  • Providing clear and concise communication of priorities to relevant personnel, including team meetings, handovers and information on targets and performance.
  • Performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring all personnel under their jurisdiction including Service Engineers, do the same.
  • Raising Material Requisitions for the ordering of spare equipment and confirm the correct delivery.
  • Deputising for the Maintenance Superintendent when required.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management System (MMS) along with the ability to input/extract data as required.
  • Maintaining Mechanical Department Maximo inputs and managing same on a regular basis.

Specific
  • Ensuring that all machinery and equipment is maintained in a safe condition and operated in a safe manner and that all operations are carried out according to correct and safe procedures.
  • Monitoring machinery and utilities to ensure efficient operation, to minimise fuel and oil consumption and to ensure maximum availability of machinery at all times.
  • The good working order of all emergency plant and equipment at all times, that it is tested frequently and correctly, so that it will be instantly available if required.
  • Watchkeeping duties during cargo Offload and bunkering operations.
  • Supervision of all machinery and plant maintenance and repairs and that they are carried out safely and to an acceptable standard of workmanship.
  • Administration of Maximo Maintenance Management System (MMS) for Planned and Corrective Maintenance work orders.
  • Monitoring of chemical dosing of the utility systems.
Safety and Environmental Critical Activities
  • Area authority for electronic permit to work.
  • Isolating Authority for permit to work.
  • Oversee Internal and External fuel transfers.
  • Oversee of utility systems chemical management.
Emergency Response Duties
  • Offshore Emergency Response Team Member

Education & experience
Qualifications
  • Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting and HUET Certificate

  • Approved Awarding Body Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Experience in a relevant maintenance role on Offshore/ Onshore oil installation preferably and FPSO.
