Job summary

DADACONSULTANTS PTE. LTD. is hiring a hands-on mechanical engineer to own the design, analysis, and validation of structural and kinematic systems for a next‑generation humanoid platform.

You will shepherd components from concept to production, work with joints, actuators, enclosures, and structural members, and collaborate with firmware/electrical teams to ensure integrability and serviceability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical design experience from concept through production.
• Strong SolidWorks capability across detailed parts, assemblies, surfaces and drawings; includes sheet metal fabrication and AM/Traditional manufacturing.
• 2D engineering drawings with GD&T for manufacturing and QA handoff.
• Ability to run and interpret FEA simulations (static/dynamic/thermal) to guide design under cost/weight constraints.
• Experience with material selection, actuator/fastener selection, and mechanism design; rapid prototyping methods (FDM, SLA, CNC, laser cutting).
• Bonus: experience with humanoid robot hardware, bipeds, or high-DOF manipulators.
• Bonus: scripting in Python to automate CAD/data workflows.
• Bonus: plastics engineering background and sim-to-real workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical assemblies across a full humanoid body, including joints, actuators, sensor mounts, and structural members
• Produce 3D parts, drawings, and assembly models across plastics, metals, and composites using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD platforms
• Set up and run hands-on test rigs for load testing, fatigue cycling, thermal soak, and kinematic validation
• Perform DFM reviews with contract manufacturers and on the production floor to address tooling, cycle times, and failure modes
• Create and maintain production drawings with GD&T and inspection callouts for handoff to manufacturing and QA teams
• Instrument test stands, wire sensors, and collect data to analyze failure modes and drive design improvements
• Coordinate with firmware and electrical teams to integrate actuators, sensors, and PCBs, ensuring wiring/cable routing/serviceability
• Contribute to open-source hardware docs, CAD releases, BOM docs, manufacturing guides, and assembly instructions
