Job summary

ChemLex in Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead R&D for in-house automated equipment, focusing on overall mechanical appearance, structure, and mechanism design.

You will perform 3D modelling, simulation, and tooling design, select motors and pneumatics, and prepare technical docs and BOMs. Strong teamwork and English communication are essential, with willingness to travel for international training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field with ≥3 years in mechanical design.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D design tools.
• Familiar with machining and assembly principles; capable of stiffness and strength calculations.
• Experience in robotic integration and automation projects; biomedical/chemical/medical device design a plus.
• Good verbal and written English; strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Necessary qualifications and qualities

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical design.


• Proficient in 2D and 3D design tools.


• Familiar with machining and assembly principles; experienced in common mechanism design, as well as stiffness and strength calculations; capable of independently handling relatively complex mechanical design tasks.


• Experience in robotic integration and automation projects is preferred; experience in biomedical, chemical, or medical device design is a plus.


• Good verbal and written communication skills, with strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.


• Fluency in English speaking, reading and writing.


• Willingness to travel internationally for training.
