Job summary

Forefront Medical Technology is seeking a design engineer to craft mechanical parts and electro-mechanical subsystems for medical devices in Singapore.

The role requires hands-on design work, proficiency in 3D CAD, and practical knowledge of injection molding and related processes. Candidates should be familiar with medical device manufacturing standards and ISO 13485 expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in product design.
• Proficient in advanced 3D CAD modeling software.
• Understanding in injection molding and secondary process.
• Familiarity with medical device manufacturing standards.
• ISO 13485 is highly advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.
• Collaborative spirit to work across tooling and production teams.
• Clear communication skills for technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Engage in conceptual and detailed design of mechanical parts and modules, electro-mechanical subsystem and pneumatic mechanism.
• Conducts feasibility studies, FMEA, DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Coordinate the fabrication, assembly, and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform technical analysis to validate and optimise design to ensure design to ensure designs meet specifications, project timeline and cost objectives.
• Build and test functional prototypes/jigs and fixtures using additive manufacturing (FDM/SLA), CNC machining, RTV silicone molding.
