Job summary

PETRACARBON PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to prepare and modify drawings and support site maintenance in petrochemical plants.

You will use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create fabrication drawings and layouts, and collaborate with customers and internal teams. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and willingness to travel to refineries and plants.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, or field service.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with ability to produce and modify drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, engineering drawings, and site procedures.
• Willing and able to travel to refineries and petrochemical plants for meetings, site surveys, and engineering assignments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with customers and site personnel.
• Self-motivated, practical, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review technical drawings, specifications, and site conditions to support engineering assessments, equipment modifications, and maintenance solutions.
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to clarify technical requirements, coordinate site activities, and resolve engineering issues.
• Prepare site survey reports, technical proposals, work scopes, and other engineering documentation as required.
• Act as the technical bridge between Operations and Purchasing to clarify technical requirements and ensure correct procurement.
• Assist in product build & test, functional checks, and record test results.
• Carry out quality checks and dimensional inspections on components and assembled products.
• Perform other engineering and technical support duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Technical Drawing & Drafting: Prepare and modify mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and technical sketches using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Engineering Support: Review technical drawings, specifications, and site conditions to support engineering assessments, equipment modifications, and maintenance solutions. If necessary, travel to customer sites to attend clarification meetings and/or gather technical information.
• Technical Coordination: Liaise with customers and internal teams to clarify technical requirements, coordinate site activities, and resolve engineering issues. Prepare site survey reports, technical proposals, work scopes, and other engineering documentation as required.
• Procurement Support: Act as the technical bridge between Operations and Purchasing to clarify technical requirements, verify specifications, and ensure the correct items, materials, and components are procured to meet operational and engineering needs.
• Product Assembly & Test Support: Assist in product build & test, functional checks, troubleshooting, and performance verification. Record test results and support the investigation and resolution of any issues identified.
• Quality Control: Carry out quality checks and dimensional inspections on components and assembled products to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
• Other Duties: Perform other engineering and technical support duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Preferably 2-3 years of relevant working experience in mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, or field service within petrochemical plants, oil refineries, or similar industrial facilities.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with the ability to produce and modify mechanical drawings independently when required.
• Familiarity with industrial mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, engineering drawings, and site work procedures.
• Willing and able to travel to refineries and petrochemical plants for customer meetings, site surveys, and other engineering assignments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with customers and site personnel.
• Self-motivated, practical, and resourceful, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with a team.
