Alstern Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan and develop designs for new products and pipeline-related services. You will prototype, test and validate mechanical concepts, perform calculations and prepare CAD drawings to industry standards.
The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks), and ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams across multidisciplinary projects in Singapore.
Plan, conceptualize and develop mechanical designs for new products, equipment and pipeline-related services.
Design and develop prototypes for new mechanical equipment, evaluating product performance and manufacturing processes.
Perform engineering calculations, simulations, testing and validation of mechanical designs.
Prepare, review and maintain technical drawings, engineering plans and specifications using CAD software.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
Utilize Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks for 2D and 3D mechanical design and drafting in accordance with engineering standards.
Prepare Mechanical Bills of Materials (BOM), technical documentation and engineering reports.
Develop budget estimates, costing and resource requirements for machine development projects.
Prepare statistical reports and undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, drafting or pipeline-related industries.
Experience in mechanical equipment or machinery R&D, with knowledge of mechanical packing seals, cutting tools, hydraulic systems and mechanical assembly being an advantage.
Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
Ability to perform engineering simulations and analyze test data involving mechanical components, fluid flow and structural stress.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical drawing skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.
