Job summary

Divine Space Construction PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a skilled Mechanical/Electrical (M&E) Engineer to manage, design and oversee installation of building services for construction projects.

You will ensure M&E systems operate efficiently, safely and in compliance with local regulations. Responsibilities include designing M&E systems, preparing drawings and load calculations, supporting cost estimations, and coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as an M&E Engineer in building/construction sector.
• Solid knowledge of local Singapore building codes and regulatory requirements (SCDF, BCA, CP5).
• Proficient with AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and BIM is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and oversee installation of HVAC, electrical power, lighting, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Prepare M&E shop drawings, schematics, load calculations and specifications.
• Support QS team with M&E cost estimates, material quantities and variation reviews.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and sub-contractors to resolve clashes on-site.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure safety, schedule adherence and regulatory compliance.
• Manage Testing and Commissioning of M&E equipment prior to handover.
• Review sub-contractor submissions including materials, method statements and O&M manuals.
• Monitor progress and propose engineering solutions to potential issues.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mechanical / Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our team. As an M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, designing, and overseeing the installation of mechanical and electrical systems for our construction projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all M&E building services operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and oversee the installation of building services including HVAC, electrical power, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare and review M&E shop drawings, schematic diagrams, load calculations, and technical specifications.
• Provide technical support to the Quantity Surveying (QS) team by assisting with M&E cost estimations, verifying material quantities, and evaluating variation orders and progress claims.
• Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, main contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve technical clashes and integration issues on-site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all M&E works are executed safely, on schedule, and strictly comply with regulatory standards (e.g., BCA, NEA, SCDF) and project specifications.
• Manage and supervise the Testing and Commissioning (T&C) of all mechanical and electrical equipment prior to handover.
• Review and evaluate sub-contractor submissions, including material approvals, method statements, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential technical issues early, and implement effective engineering solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience working as an M&E Engineer in the building and construction industry, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of local Singapore building codes, safety regulations, and statutory requirements (e.g., SCDF, BCA, CP5).
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit / Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
