Jacobs in Singapore is hiring a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to provide technical support for the Singapore Office and the Asia Region. You will assist the Building Services Lead in business development, manage project inputs, and ensure budgetary controls are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by PEB Singapore
• 4+ years of relevant working experience
• Experience in data center projects is a plus
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical services design tasks for building M&E infrastructure (healthcare/data centers)
• Review scope, BIM, specifications, and drawings from client briefs
• Ensure quality and conformance with design plans and coordinate with other disciplines
• Familiarise with local codes and international standards for compliance
• Help prepare proposals and bids
• Engage with drafting staff to fulfil deliverables
• Lead and attend project/site meetings with client and consultants
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries
• Follow plans, procedures, workflows and tools to meet project requirements
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines
• Build relationships with clients in a Doer/Seller role
• Write technical reports and specs for M&E systems
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning as required

About the role

We are hiring a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to be part of our Singapore office. In general, this role will provide technical support in mechanical engineering for the Singapore Office and more generally to the Asia Region; support the Building Services (BS) Lead in the business development and marketing of the Group capabilities; and manage project inputs and ensure the project budget and controls are in place.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks on the mechanical services detailed design (including calculations, computer simulations, specifications etc.) for building M&E infrastructure, particularly in Healthcare and/or Data Center projects.
• Review and understand scope, BIM, specifications and drawings from client briefs.
• Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans/specifications are maintained across the project and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistency.
• Familiarise and understand relevant Local Building Codes and international standards to ensure compliance.
• Help prepare proposals and bids.
• Engage with drafting and design staff to fulfil deliverables.
• Lead and attend project/site meetings with client, PM and consultants from other disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries.
• Understand and follow plans, procedures, workflows, systems and tools to meet specific project requirements.
• Liaise and coordinate relevant technical issues with other disciplines.
• Build and cultivate relationships with clients in a Doer/Seller role.
• Write technical reports and specifications including functional descriptions for M&E systems.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by PEB Singapore. Experience in BIM and 3D models is crucial.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience. Experience in data center projects will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
