Job description

We're looking for a Marketing Manager to build Griffin Labs' public presence from nothing. We train frontier AI models and build the robotic systems that put them to work in facilities, the variable and physically messy environments where traditional automation has always fallen short. We have shown little of it outside the lab. You will own that end to end, reporting to the founders: setting direction, writing the words, cutting the video, running the channels. You are our first marketing hire, so for now everything that ships is yours. The role is full-time and on-site in Singapore.

What you'll do
  • Own Griffin's marketing strategy end to end: positioning, messaging, channel mix, and the publishing cadence that holds it together
  • Turn research and engineering output into published work — demo footage from live deployments, technical explainers, model and system write-ups, build logs
  • Build and grow our presence on LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, and in the robotics and embodied AI communities where our audience already spends its time
  • Run founder-led content: sit close to the founders and the engineering team, extract what is actually worth telling, and package it in their voice rather than a corporate one
  • Lead content production across every format we publish — written, video, short-form, long-form, technical and non-technical — setting the standard and the cadence, and directing any support or external help we bring in against it
  • Treat video as the format that carries the most weight. Our systems are most persuasive when someone can watch them work in a live building, so you will direct that work and, where needed, shoot and cut it yourself
  • Own recruiting marketing and employer brand: job posts, team and project stories, campus and community presence. Talent is our primary audience, so hiring content is a first-class product, not an afterthought
  • Own the top of the commercial funnel: make published work findable, turn it into qualified inbound, and hand each conversation over cleanly to the founders and our GTM lead with enough context that they can pick it up cold
  • Build the light capture layer that makes inbound legible — landing pages and enquiry capture for our deployment and platform work, a shared view of where each conversation came from, and a handover that doesn't leave enquiries sitting in an inbox
  • Package the commercial story for operators: capability summaries, deployment case material, and the proof points that shorten a first conversation from an explanation to a scoping discussion
  • Support the investor-facing narrative: decks, one-pagers, boilerplate, and a consistent public story that matches what we tell investors privately
  • Plan and run our presence at technical conferences, industry showcases, and community events in Singapore and the region
  • Set up the tooling, analytics, and source attribution to know what is working — which pieces produced conversations, not just which produced impressions — and change course when it isn't
  • Hold the line on brand: voice, terminology, and visual identity, and a clear working understanding of what we can and cannot say publicly about customers, partners, and unreleased work
  • Make the case for whatever support the function needs next, then hire and direct it
What we're looking for
  • 3 or more years in marketing at a deep-tech, technical-product, or research-driven company, including at least one stint owning the function end to end rather than a slice of it
  • A track record of growing an audience or community from an early stage — evidence that something exists now because you built it, not that you maintained something already working
  • Strong writing. You can produce a sharp LinkedIn post, a technical explainer, and a brand narrative without needing multiple rounds of edits
  • Comfort with video: you have produced or closely directed video content, whether short-form social or longer technical work
  • The ability to read an engineering update or sit in a technical review and find the story yourself, without an engineer translating for you
  • Evidence that content you made produced conversations — inbound enquiries, partnership approaches, or applications you can trace back to specific work — rather than follower counts alone
  • Data-driven practice: you set targets, track them, and adjust when the numbers say to. You are comfortable being measured on qualified inbound while someone else owns the close
  • Judgement about confidentiality. Much of our most interesting work involves partners and customers who have not agreed to be named
  • Comfort operating as the only marketer in a room full of engineers, and moving between strategy and execution without being told which one today needs
Nice to have
  • Experience marketing robotics, AI infrastructure, hardware, developer tools, or open-source products
  • Background in developer relations or technical community programs
  • Existing relationships with technology media, the venture ecosystem, or research institutions in Singapore and Southeast Asia
  • Employer-brand or recruiting-marketing experience at a company competing for scarce technical talent
  • Familiarity with the robotics and AI conference circuit
  • Design fluency — enough to produce or direct on-brand assets without waiting on an agency
  • Working familiarity with capture forms, landing pages, email tooling, and CRM hygiene — enough to stand up a simple inbound path yourself and keep the records clean
  • Experience selling into enterprise, government, or facilities buyers, and an understanding of how long those cycles run
Who you are
  • You write more than you talk about writing
  • You are allergic to marketing superlatives and would rather show a robot working than describe it as revolutionary
  • You have high agency: you find the story, you ship it, and you don't wait to be handed a brief
  • You are curious about the technology itself, not just how to position it
  • You judge your own work by who replied, not by how a post performed
  • You want the work judged on whether the right people show up — as candidates, as partners, as investors
What we are looking to build

A public record of the work that makes Griffin legible to the people we most want to reach, and a reliable path from that record into real conversations. Engineers who see a genuinely hard problem and want in. Investors who understand why owning every layer matters. Operators who can see what our systems do in a live facility rather than in a rendering, and who arrive ready to scope a deployment. Built from zero, in our voice, by someone who would rather publish than posture.
