Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Technical Executive to support procurement and technical requirements for vessels managed by a ship management company. You will source marine spare parts, equipment and services, process vessel requisitions and coordinate timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a ship management environment, preferably supporting tanker vessels, with familiarity in marine spare parts and technical services.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Logistics or related.
• 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience with a ship management company.
• Experience supporting tanker vessels is preferred.
• Familiarity with marine spare parts, machinery, equipment and services.
• Strong understanding of vessel requisitions, quotation evaluation, purchase orders and delivery coordination.
• Able to interpret basic technical descriptions, manuals and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

• Process vessel requisitions for spare parts, equipment, stores and technical services.
• Source suitable suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
• Evaluate quotations based on price, quality, availability, specifications and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders and obtain the necessary internal approvals.
• Coordinate deliveries with vessels, suppliers, agents, freight forwarders and port representatives.
• Monitor order progress and ensure items are delivered within the required timeframe.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and update procurement or ERP systems.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable marine requirements.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to the technical department.
