Job summary

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore is seeking a role-based officer seconded to the Singapore Maritime Crisis Centre (SMCC) to act as a subject matter expert on shipping industry developments, regulatory matters, and national and international regulations governing the industry.

The officer will liaise between MPA departments and the seconded agency, support exercises and workshops, and contribute to enhancing the organisation's maritime security awareness and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Good knowledge of the shipping/marine industry; security experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with National Maritime Security System framework is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Represent MPA on maritime security issues with government agencies and committees.
• Serve as the MPA liaison between departments and the seconded agency; ensure cross-agency communication.
• Support conduct of exercises, workshops, training sessions, visits and seminars.
• Perform Duty Officer duties (12-hour shifts) at the Command Centre, ~4 times per month.
• Assist in planning and executing Whole-of-Government maritime security operations for major events.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide insights for sharper sense-making and operational planning.
