Job summary

ShipIn Systems is seeking a Tier 1 IT Engineer to install, support, and troubleshoot IT systems in maritime environments, focusing on IP cameras, PoE switches, Linux servers, and network connectivity. You will follow structured procedures and document configurations.

You’ll work with Jira, Grafana, and Slack to monitor systems, track incidents, and escalate issues as needed. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, solid networking knowledge, and clear communication in English.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as an IT/Support Engineer for complex, multidisciplinary products and systems.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, switching, VLANs, and basic routing.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and IP-based surveillance or similar networked devices.
• Familiarity with Jira, Grafana, and Slack or equivalent tools.
• Fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support IP camera systems, including PoE switches, cabling, and endpoint connectivity.
• Assist in deployment and basic administration of Linux servers supporting AI and video analytics services.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Monitor system health and alerts; log, track, and update incidents using Jira; escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, checklists, and installation records.
