Job summary
GMS SERVICE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Field Engineer - IT to install, configure, commission, and support IT infrastructure aboard vessels and at customer sites. You will work hands-on with Remote Desktop Services, servers, virtualization, cybersecurity solutions, firewalls, networking equipment, and other IT systems.
This role requires travel to customer sites and vessels, strong problem-solving, and solid documentation to ensure security, stability, and optimal performance of deployed systems.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with IT field support at customer locations.
- Experience with RDS, servers, virtualization, and domain infrastructure.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot firewalls and network devices.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing, and remote connectivity.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity monitoring and incident handling.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of IT products.
- Troubleshoot Remote Desktop Services (RDS), connectivity, and performance issues.
- Install and configure servers, VMs, and domain infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain firewalls (network devices).
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, routing, and connectivity issues.
- Configure CCTV systems for remote monitoring and handovers.
- Travel to customer sites and vessels as required.
- Prepare installation, service, commissioning, and configuration reports.
