Duties &Responsibilities:

• Track the performance of the vessel in commercial and maritime operations.
• Monthly Safety Messages, Safety Committee Minutes, Master's Self-Assessment, ISM Internal and External Audits, Navigation Audits, ISPS Audits, CDI / SIRE and other Third Parties Inspection Reports are all reviewed and monitored. Concerns are swiftly brought up with the relevant TSI.
• Updating a database for the Master's Self-Assessment of assigned vessels, ISM Internal and External Audits, Navigation Audits, ISPS Audits, CDI / SIRE and other Third Parties Inspection Reports in order to conduct recurring trend analysis and share findings with HOD.
• Uphold and manage the certificates of assigned vessels.
• Scheduling routine safety checks of assigned boats and making necessary arrangements for third-party inspections.
• Use the company's standard modules to conduct workshops and training sessions on frequent ship visits.
• Update internal policies for designated vessels on a regular basis.
• Visit the other MSI vessels on a regular basis to perform impartial audits and inspections.
• Consistently evaluate and monitor the published lists, requirements, and charts of the assigned vessel. When necessary, carefully coordinate with the contracted vendor to ensure that all issues are swiftly resolved.
• Helping and advising the masters and operators of the assigned vessels on a variety of operational issues, such as safe navigation, port rotation, cargo transfer and custody, and tank cleaning monitoring; when required, joining the assigned vessel and serving as Supercargo.
• Examining the inventory of the deck, cargo, and cabin stores aboard the vessel. Working with TSI, reviewing and approving requests for spare parts and deck, cargo, and cabin stores. Assigning category codes and monitoring order status.
• Participate in hiring officers for the Deck Department and provide onboarding briefings.
• Help and counsel the Seafarer Department with a range of crew issues including P&I claim management.
• Upkeep of the safety video and DVD libraries and various CBT programmes that are used on board the designated vessels; regular monitoring and reporting of the onboard training progress; and, if applicable, cooperation with PSI for the issuing of pertinent certificates from relevant authorities to those who have satisfactorily completed the required training.
• Setting up ship/shore exercises with designated vessels
• Engage in additional routine duties related to SMS management, such as periodic Manual changes and Fleet Circular Letter preparation, as needed.
• Setting up the training and deck budgets for the designated vessels.
• Any additional responsibilities the HOD may specify.

Job Requirements:

• Alumnus of Marine College or a comparable programme with a navigation degree
• At least two years of experience working as an oceangoing chemical tanker's senior deck officer.
• Sufficient written and spoken English proficiency to read and write technical papers
