Job summary

Unix Line Pte Ltd is seeking a qualified Master Mariner to oversee tanker operations and ensure compliance with ISM/ISPS/MLC across assigned vessels in Singapore. You will conduct onboard audits, respond to inspections, and manage crew performance under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has Class 1 COC and at least 1 year as Master on tankers (or 2 years as superintendent for parcel chemical tankers). You will coordinate with charterers and DPA, contributing to safe and efficient voyages.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class 1 COC - Master Mariner.
• At least 1 year as Master on tanker (preferably chemical).
• Or minimum 2 years as superintendent or related supervision of parcel chemical tankers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISM/ISPS/MLC certification and documentation for assigned vessels.
• Conduct onboard audits and inspections and report findings to management.
• Ensure timely completion of SIRE, CDI, NON-SIRE and terminal inspections.
• Prepare responses to PSC deficiencies and third-party findings and close-out.
• Respond to charterers’ queries and maintain HVPQ, Q88, crew matrix and related docs.
• Monitor vessel operations, cargo handling, tank cleaning and compliance with voyage orders.
• Monitor marine, safety, environmental and quality performance; implement QHSEMS/SMS.
• Conduct and support onboard and shore-based crew training; perform senior officers’ appraisals.
• Review vessel reports, investigate incidents, establish root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with commercial operators and stakeholders, assist the DPA, and be part of the Emergency Response Team.

Job description

1. Maintain valid ISM/ISPS/MLC certification and documentation for assigned vessels, including internal and external audits.

2. Conduct onboard audits and inspections as required and report findings to management.

3. Ensure timely completion of SIRE, CDI, NON-SIRE and terminal inspections, including follow-up on observations.

4. Prepare responses to PSC deficiencies and third-party inspection findings, ensuring satisfactory close-out.

5. Respond promptly to charterers’ queries and maintain updated HVPQ, Q88, crew matrix and related documents.

6. Monitor vessel operations, cargo handling, tank cleaning and compliance with charterers’ voyage orders, providing technical guidance to Masters.

7. Monitor marine, safety, environmental and quality performance, ensuring deficiencies are rectified and QHSEMS/SMS requirements are implemented.

8. Conduct and support onboard and shore-based crew training, and perform senior officers’ performance appraisals.

9. Review vessel reports, investigate incidents and near misses, establish root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

10. Liaise with commercial operators and relevant stakeholders, assist the DPA, and serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

1. At least 1 year as a sailing Master of a tanker, preferably chemical,

2. With a minimum of 2 years as superintendent or related superintendence activities operating parcel chemical tankers.
