Job summary

Tap Growth ai in Singapore seeks an experienced Marine Superintendent to oversee operations for container and bulk vessels, ensuring safe, efficient and regulatory-compliant performance.

You will lead navigation, cargo handling and safety guidance to Masters and crew, conduct inspections and audits, and coordinate with port authorities and charterers. A Class 1 Master Mariner COC and 3+ years in the field are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Marine Studies, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Marine Superintendent on container vessels and/or bulk carriers.
• Valid COC Class 1 - Master Mariner.
• Strong knowledge of marine operations, vessel inspections and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to manage multiple vessels independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee marine operations of assigned vessels to ensure safe, efficient performance.
• Monitor compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, and other regulations.
• Provide guidance on navigation, cargo handling, and marine safety to Masters and crew.
• Conduct vessel inspections, audits, and assessments to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with Masters, port authorities, charterers, and stakeholders to smooth operations.
• Evaluate vessel performance, fuel efficiency, voyage planning and cargo operations.
• Investigate marine incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of SMS and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Overseethe marine operations of assigned container and bulk vessels, ensuringsafe, efficient, and compliant vessel performance.
• Monitorvessel operations to ensure adherence to international maritimeregulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Providetechnical and operational guidance to vessel Masters and crew onnavigation, cargo handling, and marine safety matters.
• Conductregular vessel inspections, marine audits, and operational assessments tomaintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinatewith vessel Masters, port authorities, charterers, and relevantstakeholders to facilitate smooth vessel and port operations.
• Evaluatevessel performance, including fuel efficiency, voyage planning, cargooperations, and operational effectiveness.
• Investigatemarine incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending corrective andpreventive measures to enhance safety.
• Ensurecompliance with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other applicable maritimeregulations and requirements.
• Supportthe implementation and continuous improvement of Safety Management Systems(SMS), marine procedures, and operational best practices.
• Collaboratewith internal departments and external parties to resolve operationalchallenges and improve fleet performance.

Requirements

• Diplomaor Degree in Marine Studies, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or arelated discipline.
• Minimum3 years of relevant experience as a Marine Superintendent, handling containervessels and/or bulk carriers.
• Mustpossess a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 - Master Mariner.
• Strongknowledge of marine operations, vessel inspections, cargo handling,maritime safety regulations, and international conventions.
• Excellentcommunication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, withthe ability to work independently and manage multiple vessels effectively.
