Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:Identify mechanical, electrical, and automation system faults in marine diesel engines using both manual and computerised diagnostic tools.
  • Repair and Maintenance:Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs, including the replacement of engine components such as pistons, cylinder heads, fuel pumps, and turbochargers.
  • Overhaul and Reconditioning:Dismantle, inspect, clean, reassemble, and recondition engine components according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Installation and Testing:Install engines and auxiliary machinery, conduct alignment checks, perform test runs, and calibrate systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, repair plans, parts used, and timesheets.
  • On-site and Field Work:Work in various locations, including workshops, onboard vessels, shipyards, ports, and offshore locations, often requiring overseas travel.
  • Safety and Compliance:Adhere strictly to safety procedures, environmental regulations, and quality assurance standards.
