Job summary

Talent-Merge is seeking an experienced Master Mariner to lead marine safety and compliance across tanker operations. The role involves managing daily marine operations, vessel audits, and regulatory submissions to OCIMF SIRE, with a focus on safety, performance, and cost control.

Candidates must hold a Master Mariner CoC (Class 1 or 2) and have at least seven years of shore-based Marine safety experience, plus seagoing Master rank.

Qualifications

• Must hold Master Mariner CoC (Class 1 or 2).
• Minimum 7 years shore-based experience in marine safety, health, environmental management and compliance for product or chemical tankers, with seagoing experience as a Master.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily marine operations to support safe and efficient tanker fleet performance.
• Coordinate vessel audits, inspections and certifications per maritime regulations.
• Handle tanker vetting inspections and submissions through the OCIMF SIRE platform.
• Review vessel performance, navigational safety and operational procedures.
• Guide and train seagoing personnel to maintain safety and operational standards.
• Monitor the maintenance and readiness of cargo-handling and navigational equipment.
• Investigate marine incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Liaise with charterers, terminals, insurers and other stakeholders on marine matters.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and operational costs.
• Improve safety management procedures, support regulatory compliance and participate in emergency response activities.
