Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. is seeking an Automation Engineer (Marine Automation & Cloud Systems) in Singapore to bridge vessel operations with digital technologies. You will lead development and testing of marine automation, and design cloud infrastructure to support AI and data-driven solutions.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming, cloud experience (AWS/Azure), and strong software skills in Python, Java, and C, plus capability to build intuitive web GUIs and data visualizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, CS, automation, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated PLC programming and control-system modelling/simulation experience.
• 2+ years hands-on with AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms; data architecture and infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and C.
• Experience developing web-based GUIs and data visualization interfaces.
• Interest in maritime decarbonization and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Marine Automation & Control Systems: develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC software.
• Cloud Architecture & AI Performance Analytics: design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure for vessel monitoring and predictive maintenance.
• Software Development & Systems Integration: develop web-based interfaces and production-ready maritime applications using Python, Java, and C.
