Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, invites applications for an onsite Wire-EDM operator. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining EDM equipment to support precision manufacturing.

You will read SOPs, perform basic troubleshooting, and participate in safety, EH&S programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. NITEC in relevant field with 2 years EDM/CMM experience is required.

Qualifications

• NITEC graduate in precision/aerospace/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years EDM/CMM operation and maintenance experience.
• 2 years manufacturing/precision engineering or machining experience.
• Hands-on with tools and equipment.
• Able to understand SOPs and technical instructions.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail and hands-on approach.
• Willing to work permanent night shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain Wire-EDM machines.
• Perform simple troubleshooting of machines.

• Perform risk assessment and take corrective actions, plus preventive measures.
• Maintain day-to-day 6S lean activities for a safe work environment.

What You Will Do

• Set up, operate and maintain Wire-EDM Machines
• Perform simple troubleshooting of machines.

• Work cross functional to support the various manufacturing processes.
• Participate in the EH&S programs and takes personal responsibility to ensure safety adherence.
• Support the continuous improvement programs, CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) activities and additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications You Must Have

• NITEC in Precision, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in EDM / CMM machine Operation and Maintenance experience.
• 2 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Precision Engineering or Machining.
• Comfortable with hands-on work to operate with the tools and equipment.
• Ability to understand basic technical instructions and standard operation procedures (SOP).
• Meticulous with an eye for details and adopts a hands-on approach.
• Willing to work permanent night shift and overtime on need basis.

Qualifications We Prefer

• EDM machining skills and knowledge.
• Relevant experience in operating CMM measurement machines.
• Relevant aerospace, manufacturing or precision engineering experience.
