Job summary

Coherent Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to perform setup, calibration, rework, and quality testing across parts and assemblies.

You will use advanced software to analyze operating data for online product adjustments and collaborate with engineers to optimize processes. The role involves experiments, process improvements, and contributing to lean initiatives like Kaizen and 6S in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent; 2+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience in cleanroom environments and strict policy adherence.
• Commitment to housekeeping and safety in the workplace.
• Hands-on experience with sub-assemblies, soldering, and handling chemicals.
• Ability to manage chemical solutions during the cleaning process.
• Flexibility to work shift hours.

• Perform tasks associated with all manufacturing operations, including setup, calibration, rework, and quality testing for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
• Utilize advanced software programs to collect and analyze operating data for on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers to determine and develop methods and procedures to optimize and control manufacturing processes.
• Work closely with engineers to conduct experiments and implement process improvements.
• Participate in abnormality detection to identify and resolve issues in production processes promptly.
• Drive improvements in production yield, scrap reduction, and Out-of-Box Quality (OBQ) performance.
• Contribute Kaizen ideas and actively engage in Small Group Activities (SGA) to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in 6S activities to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Education & Experience

• A Diploma in Engineering or its equivalents with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and adhering strictly to policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices in the workplace.
• Hands-on experience with sub-assemblies, soldering, and handling chemical solutions.
• Ability to manage chemical solutions effectively during the cleaning process.
