Emerson in Singapore is seeking an Accountant to support key accounting and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment, focusing on factory costing, cost accounting, and manufacturing finance. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and provide insights for operational decision-making.

You will contribute to budgeting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while preparing monthly closing activities and management reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of factory costing, standard costing methodologies, cost roll processes, and manufacturing finance principles.
• Experience performing cost accounting activities, variance analysis, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform key cost accounting activities, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and month-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Develop and maintain monthly management reports to support business decision-making.
• Participate in quarterly business reviews and annual budgeting activities.
• Lead the annual cost roll process and ensure accurate cost data management.
• Review and analyze excess and obsolete inventory reserves on a quarterly basis.
• Review and analyze warranty expenses and reserve requirements.
• Support cycle counts, annual physical inventory counts, and fixed asset verification activities.
• Assist with Free Trade Agreement (FTA) applications and renewals.
• Support annual US GAAP, SOX, statutory audit, and compliance requirements.
• Serve as a key accounting contact for enterprise IT expenditure reporting activities.
• Support annual business insurance renewal processes.
• Contribute to special projects, process improvements, and other ad hoc assignments as needed.
