Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a Decision Support Data Scientist to join the Manufacturing Analytics and Strategy Execution team in Singapore. You will develop and validate insights, forecasts, and scenarios to support management decisions and performance management.

You'll translate operational questions into analytical tasks, build prototypes using Python/SQL/R, and ensure outputs are reliable and explainable for leadership actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, CS, Engineering, Business Analytics, Economics, or related quantitative field. Master’s preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant work or project experience in data science, analytics, or BI.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and ability to translate questions into clear analyses.
• Experience with data cleaning, EDA, visualization, and presenting analytical findings.
• Foundational knowledge of stats, forecasting, and ML/AI with business application.
• Understanding KPI design, baselines, targets, and leading indicators.
• Good written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Programming experience in Python, SQL, or R from coursework or work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate Control Tower insights, ensuring analyses and forecasts are accurate and explainable.
• Collaborate with senior Data Scientists and stakeholders to translate questions into analytical tasks and success criteria.
• Define and validate KPI logic, baselines, targets, thresholds, and leading indicators.
• Apply statistics, forecasting, diagnostic analytics, ML/AI with business relevance.
• Prepare visualisations and narratives showing signals, drivers, and scenario implications.
• Build and test analytical prototypes using Python, SQL, R, BI tools, and cloud tech; document methods for reproducibility.
• Assess data quality and monitor analytical outputs; flag issues for model improvement.
• Collaborate across Analytics, Engineering, Manufacturing Strategy, and stakeholders to align with priorities.
