Job summary

The Singapore Association for the Deaf invites a dedicated Manager for Sign Language Programme & Outreach to lead a team of Sign Language instructors and administrative staff. You will recruit, supervise, and coach the team to deliver high-quality programmes that empower the Deaf community in Singapore.

You will manage curriculum updates, coordinate workshops, and design outreach initiatives to broaden impact beyond the classroom, partnering with other departments on budget and reporting.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience leading or managing a team.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Knowledge of Singapore Sign Language.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Mentor: oversee Sign Language instructors and administrative staff; drive recruitment and in-service training.
• Programme & Curriculum Management: monitor and update curriculum and workshops to keep teaching methods current.
• Outreach & Major Events: plan projects, build partnerships, and raise awareness of Singapore Sign Language in the community.
• Strategic Management: collaborate on budget, impact reporting, and data-driven proposals to shape programme futures.

We are looking for a Manager, Sign Language Programme & Outreach to lead our team of Sign Language instructors to drive the growth, quality and community impact of our Sign Language programmes. This isn’t just about teaching a language; it’s about empowering a community.

The Role: Impact in Action

As our manager, you'll be the driving force behind our Sign Language initiatives.

1. Lead & Mentor: You’ll lead a dedicated team of Sign Language instructors and administrative staff. You’ll be instrumental in the instructor recruitment process, provide day-to-day supervision, and ensure staff and fractional instructors stay at the top of their game through regular in-service training.

2. Programme & Curriculum Management: You’ll monitor and support the updating of curriculum and workshops, ensuring our teaching methods remain professional, effective and relevant.

3. Outreach & Major Events: Beyond the classroom, you’ll be the architect of our community impact. From planning projects and building partnerships to leading cross-departmental work, you’ll bring Singapore Sign Language to the wider public.

4. Strategic Management: By partnering with our Assistant Director on budget preparation, impact reporting, and data-driven proposals, you’ll help shape the future of our programmes.
   

Who You Are

• A Proven Leader: You have at least 2 years of experience leading or managing a team.

• Education: You hold a Bachelor's Degree in any field.

• A Signer: You have knowledge of Singapore Sign Language

• Bonus Points: If you have experience with or knowledge of the Deaf community, you’ll hit the ground running!
