Job description

What the role is

Global cruise industry has grown steadily in the past decade and is projected to continue its current growth trajectory for the next decade. Asia Pacific will be an important emerging cruise region contributing to this growth. As a leading cruise hub in the region, Singapore is well-positioned to capture a significant share of this.

Being the sector lead and champion for Singapore's cruise industry, there are many opportunities to be creative and initiate programmes that shape the industry as well as play a key role in transforming the landscape for Singapore. STB Cruise Division is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to be part of our team, to take on the fast-paced and dynamic work of growing Singapore's cruise tourism.

What you will be working on
  1. Regional Collaborations - To enhance Southeast Asia's attractiveness as a cruising region, attracting greater interest from global cruise lines in deploying ships and developing new itineraries in the region. Champion initiatives to increase awareness of value of cruise tourism amongst Southeast Asia destinations across key regional event platforms. Conduct analysis and identify new itinerary opportunities for sailings in and/or out of Singapore. Drive collaborations with Southeast Asia partners (e.g. government representatives, state-owned enterprises and private port operators) to catalyse cruise developments (e.g. port infrastructure developments, shore excursions, itinerary development) through study trips and cruise lines familiarisation trips. Work closely with STB International Relations to advance Southeast Asia cruise agenda at key multilateral and bilateral government platforms.
  2. Cruise Partnerships - To build Singapore as the leading homeport of choice in the region for both cruise lines and passengers. Identify and pursue opportunities with key cruise stakeholders (e.g. Cruise Lines International Association and Asia Cruise Leaders Network) to strengthen and promote Singapore's value proposition as the leading homeport of choice in the region. Examples of initiatives include research studies on economic impact of cruise tourism in the region and capability training for in-market travel trade. Lead Singapore's booth participation (including both cruise terminal operators, CAG and SIA) at key global cruise event, Seatrade Cruise Global, to collectively showcase Singapore as the leading homeport of choice.
  3. Singapore Cruise Eco-system - Assess gaps, opportunities and threats faced by our local cruise stakeholders (e.g. government agencies, port agents, shipyards, aviation partners, terminal operators) relating to the experience and efficiency of cruise lines deployments in Singapore. Collaborate with industry partners to implement initiatives aimed at ensuring an efficient, seamless and pleasant experience in Singapore for both cruise passengers and cruise lines.
