Job summary

HSBC Global Private Banking in Singapore seeks a Manager, Investment Suitability to strengthen governance and risk controls for Asia suitability processes. You will prepare monthly committee packs, review exceptions, and produce management information to monitor ongoing suitability risks.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, and excellent coordination with RMs and ICs to drive improvements and policy implementation within a compliant framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in private banking or wealth management risk/controls/audit.
• Strong coordination and interpersonal skills with RMs/ICs.
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements for private banking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Asia Suitability Governance Committee monthly meeting pack, minutes and track actions.
• Review suitability exceptions and follow up with stakeholders; track closing items.
• Produce Investment Suitability management information and monitor suitability risks.
• Assist in reviewing and enhancing suitability policies and procedures.
• Provide administrative support for new policy implementations.
• Maintain internal control standards and address audit/regulator points.
• Support Regional Head of Suitability to implement enhancements to the regional framework.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, Investment Suitability.

In This Role You Will

• Responsible to prepare the Asia Suitability Governance Committee monthly meeting pack, minutes and track action items.
• Review suitability exceptions and following up with key stakeholders and track the completion on closing the exceptions.
• Produce Investment Suitability Management Information and play an integral part in monitoring the suitability risks.
• Assist in reviewing and enhancing suitability related policies and procedures.
• Provide administrative support to enable new policies for implementation.
• Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Provide administrative and management support to the Regional Head of Suitability enabling him to execute the various changes and enhancement to the regional suitability framework.

To Be Successful You Will Need

• Relevant years of experience in private banking/retail wealth and financial markets, good knowledge or background in risk, controls, audit and/or wealth management financial products and services
• Strong understanding of issues / challenges faced by RMs and ICs, with strong co-ordination, communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative approach to problem solving and yet complying with internal policies and procedures, challenge existing procedures to drive improvements and streamline processes
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory rules and requirements on private banking/retail wealth.
• Strong analytical skills with focus on details, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision making practices.
• Bachelor degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
