Job summary

Marina Bay Sands seeks an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead large-scale design and construction efforts for hospitality facilities in Singapore. You will drive objectives, budgets and schedules, coordinating with Facilities, DPM and external contractors.

The role requires a strong background in building services (ACMV, electrical, fire protection, plumbing) and a track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in MEP design/consultancy/construction.
  • Experience in project management for large-scale properties such as Integrated Resorts, Hospitality, Mixed Development, MICE, is required.
  • Competency in building services such as ACMV, Electrical, Fire Protection & Plumbing/Sanitary Systems is preferred.
  • Familiar with local codes, standards and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Initialize project by establishing objectives, assessments, plans and schedules.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets based on requirements and design concepts.
  • Prepare PRF and SR documents covering Scope of Works, Specifications, Drawings, etc.
  • Drive tender/sourcing processes with Procurement.
  • Onboard contractors with kick-off meetings, safety orientations and PTWs.
  • Document existing conditions prior to construction; review submittals (safety plans, risk assessments, shop drawings, materials).
  • Oversee contractor’s works during construction; manage progress reports and payments.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Teams, DPM and stakeholders to resolve project issues.
  • Verify as-built documents submitted by contractors; manage handover and trainings.
  • Closeout projects with testing, statutory approvals, substantial completion and postmortem report.

Job Responsibilities
  • Initialize project by establishing project objectives, conducting project assessments, preparing project plans & schedules.

Job Requirements
Education & Certification
  • Diploma/Degree in the fields of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a pre-requisite, while knowledge in Building Services Operations & Maintenance would be a definite advantage.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Words, Excel & Power Point) and Autocad fluency is a pre-requisite.

  • Competency in Numerical and Analytical application tools preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in MEP design/consultancy/construction role.

  • Experience in Project Management in the large-scale properties such as Integrated Resort, Hospitality, Mixed Development, MICE, etc. required.

  • Experience in application of Project Management methodologies will be an advantage.

  • Experience in building services such as ACMV, Electrical, Fire Protection & Plumbing/Sanitary Systems is preferred.

Other Prerequisites
  • Technical competencies in building and general MEP operations, particularly in a large-scale property(s).

  • Familiar with standards, local codes, and statutory requirements.

  • Demonstrate a strong ability to analyse and solve problems.

  • Ability to coordinate and complete planned projects on time, within budget and scope.

  • Demonstrates functional, resources and financial management capabilities.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership in managing contractors & internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

  • Sets challenging but realistic goals with measurable parameters of success for projects.

  • Forward thinking with constant strive for continuous improvements to strengthen performance.

  • Understands technology trends with keenness to evaluate implementation possibilities.

  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal relation skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
