Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore seeks a data architect to support NS administration and policy-making by building data strategies and capabilities within the NS domain to enable data-driven policy reviews. You will design NS data repository, governance, definitions, and ensure data quality for dashboards and insights, while managing pipelines and connections for analytics and future AI models.

Applicants with 2+ years in data architecture and experience with HR systems are preferred;

Qualifications

• Education in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in data architecture, data management, data governance, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with Human Resource enterprise systems (e.g. Workday, SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with data architecture, data management and data governance frameworks and practices.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
• Good communication and presentation skills.

What The Role Is

You will support National Service (NS) administration, policy-making and sense-making by developing data strategies and capabilities within the NS domain to leverage data for policy sense-making and policy reviews.

What You Will Be Working On

• Design, develop and implement the NS-related data repository
• Establish and enforce robust data management and governance practices
• Define and uphold standard data definitions and taxonomies
• Ensure high-quality data is ready for dashboards, insights and decision-making to enable reporting
• Manage data pipelines and connections needed for data analytics and queries, transactions and future AI models

Challenge(s)

• Navigating large volume of datasets that reside across various systems and aspects of NS, each with their own idiosyncrasies
• Developing a strong understanding of MINDEF/SAF's organisational structure, operations, policies and processes, particularly in the NS domain
• Maintaining a broad strategic perspective on NS policies while drilling down into key data details

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field is preferred
