Job summary

National University of Singapore's Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) seeks a dynamic professional to engage alumni across the Asia Pacific region outside Singapore and to plan, organise and deliver alumni-focused programmes, events and activities.

You will collaborate with overseas alumni networks, curate visits and talks in gateway cities, draft speeches for university leaders, and support broader OAR activities with diplomacy and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Degree holder with at least 5 years of proven track record in engagement, partnership or marketing.
• Self-starter who is creative, resourceful and good with people.
• Strong English communication, both verbal and written; additional Asian language an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Be an active part of Alumni Engagement Asia Pacific in engaging alumni residing outside Singapore.
• Work hand-in-hand with overseas alumni networks in various countries to create a collegial community.
• Support overseas alumni leaders in communication and administration.
• Curate and organise alumni-focused events and activities in gateway cities.
• Organise industry and company visits and talks relevant to alumni.
• Collaborate with other NUS colleagues on alumni activities as needed.
• Proposing and executing effective engagement strategies to steward and support alumni more efficiently.
• Draft speeches for NUS leaders speaking at alumni events.
• Support other OAR activities as needed.

The mission of the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) is to nurture mutually beneficial and lifelong relationships with alumni and engage them along NUS' aspirations. The Alumni Engagement (Asia Pacific) team supports this mission by reaching out to, and strengthening bonds with, overseas alumni in the Asia Pacific region from the University's 400,000-strong alumni community.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for engaging alumni residing in the Asia Pacific region outside Singapore, as well as planning, organising and delivering alumni-focused programmes, events and activities in the region.

• Be an active part of Alumni Engagement (Asia Pacific) team in engaging alumni residing outside Singapore.
• Work hand-in-hand with alumni and Asia Pacific alumni networks in various countries to create a collegial community.
• Support overseas alumni leaders in the areas of communication and administration.
• Curate and organise alumni-focused events and activities in gateway cities.
• Organise industry and company visits and talks relevant to alumni.
• Collaborate with other NUS colleagues on alumni activities, where relevant.
• Proposing and executing effective engagement strategies to steward and support alumni more efficiently.
• Draft speeches for NUS leaders speaking at alumni or alumni-related events, when required.
• Support other OAR activities as and when needed.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree with at least 5 years of proven track record in engagement, partnership or marketing.
• A self-starter who is creative, resourceful and good with people.
• A good communicator who is culturally effective, respectful of cultural differences with strong diplomacy skills.
• Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of an additional Asian language(s) would be an advantage.
• Good project management skills, meticulous and attentive to details.
• Hands-on, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work and travel beyond regular office hours and on weekends, when necessary.
