Job Description

“NUS Global” (or GRO) is the international engagement arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS). It has a dual mandate. Broadly, GRO oversees and administers mobility programmes that provide NUS students learning experiences abroad. Such programmes enhance students’ cultural competencies and personal development to help prepare them for life and work across international and cultural boundaries. GRO is also responsible for building collaborative relationships with overseas counterparts through bilateral engagements, alliances, networks and other channels to create value for our stakeholders in line with NUS’ aspiration to be a global university.

GRO incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that NUS’ partnerships and relations are purpose-driven, mutually beneficial and aligned with NUS’ priorities, student mobility needs and broader institutional goals as a global university.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Grow new short-term programmes by encouraging faculties to participate, providing advisory and support for first-time organisers, and supporting promotional efforts to encourage student participation, to increase outbound global mobility.
  • Organise, coordinate and lead short-term programmes overseas, including liaising with partner institutions and/or global organisations, planning the trip itinerary, recruiting students, chaperoning students during the trip, and ensuring financial disbursements, if any.
  • Develop and manage mobility opportunities for NUS students to ensure the quality of global programmes offered and support NUS’ mobility objectives.
  • Develop NUS’ global network of partners and source for global opportunities for students to enhance programme offerings.
  • Administer relevant financial aid to support participation in global programmes.
  • Support NUS’s representations at relevant events and engagements in Singapore and overseas to advance the University’s global presence, partnerships, branding and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • University degree
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in international relations, partnership development and management, or a related role within higher education or a similar international environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with an excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
  • A keen interest in global developments and international trends, particularly in the higher education landscape.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good time-management and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive, resourceful and adaptable team player who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Prior experience in global engagement or international work would be an advantage but is not essential.
