Job summary

AIKIT PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to install, service, and repair InstaChef smart vending machines and related equipment across Singapore. The role requires practical experience in air-conditioning, welding, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.

You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and upgrade hardware/software as needed while maintaining records and supporting customer service with problem resolution. Nights/rotations may be involved.

Qualifications

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, automation systems, or technical servicing.
• Hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Experience with air-conditioning, refrigeration, HVAC systems, incl. basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work independently and in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install InstaChef vending machines, ensuring proper connection of electrical, mechanical, and network components.
• Perform tests on machines after installation to verify they are fully operational and meet all functional specifications.
• Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, calibration, and replacing worn-out parts.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues in a timely manner to minimize service disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and electrical system inspections.
• Use diagnostic tools and procedures to identify issues with vending machines, such as mechanical jams, electrical faults, or software errors.
• Improve vending machines’ performance and efficiency by providing effective troubleshooting and engineering support for operations.
• Perform upgrades to hardware and software as needed.
• Provide effective solutions for breakdowns or malfunctions and perform emergency repairs when necessary.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability of key components needed for repairs. Order necessary parts and equipment as needed.
• Provide on-site technical support and respond to service requests promptly.
• Provide assistance to customer service team with remote problem resolution on order issues.
• Provide assistance on customer order issues and enquiries. Process refunds for customers if needed.
• Support daily distribution operations. Assist supply chain in replenishment of company products.
• Meet set productivity and goals. Work to improve and increase customer satisfaction.
• Must be able to understand simple electrical schematics and floor plans.
• Carry out electrical works include the laying of cables, trunking, conduits & installation of electrical components.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during installation, repair, and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 1–3 years of relevant hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, automation systems, or technical servicing.
• Hands‑on experience or technical knowledge in welding and metal fabrication.
• Experience in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, or HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Self‑motivated, resourceful, and willing to learn.
• Able to work rotating shifts, including night shifts.
• Candidates who can start at short notice are preferred.
