Job summary

The Polyolefin Company (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance Section to upkeep our manufacturing plants with the latest technology and advanced engineering controls.

You will support the Maintenance Manager to achieve corporate objectives, manage maintenance and instrumentation activities, and liaise with staff and contractors to ensure safe, smooth plant operations. Training and ISO/SS standards implementation are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of working experience.
• PLC and HMI knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance and instrumentation activities for plant facilities.
• Coordinate and execute major field maintenance with safety first.
• Liaise with internal and external units to avoid disruptions to plant operations.
• Carry out instrumentation studies and modify facilities per technical specs and business requirements.
• Conduct training for staff and contractors to enhance skills and competency.
• Implement management systems compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and SS651.

Job description

You will join the Maintenance Section to upkeep the manufacturing plants equipped with latest technology and advanced engineering control, and support the Maintenance Manager in accomplishing corporate business objectives.

The Daily

• Manage maintenance and instrumentation activities for facilities in the manufacturing plants for safe and smooth operations.
• Coordinate and execute major field maintenance works with no compromise to safety of workers and integrity of facilities.
• Liaise with internal and external business units on maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of maintenance works and no disruption to plant operations.
• Carry out instrumentation application study and modification of plant facilities according to technical specification and business requirements.
• Conduct and arrange training for staff and contractor to enhance their skill and competency levels.
• Implement management systems based on standards stipulated under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and SS651.

The Essentials

• Possess a Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 3 to 5 years of working experience.
• Basic knowledge in programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interfaces (HMI) will have an added advantage.
• Essential prerequisites include good analytical & problem-solving skills, ability to communicate with staff in different functions & contractors, and strong spirit of collaboration & teamwork.
