Job summary

talent trader group pte. ltd. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to manage technical maintenance across plant equipment, drive quality and reliability improvement. You will lead preventive programs, troubleshoot complex electrical automation systems, and implement RCA to prevent recurrence.

The role requires hands-on electrical work, strong PLC know-how, SAP/ISO familiarity, and leadership to coordinate maintenance teams and production staff in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, manufacturing, equipment maintenance or industrial engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation.
• Proven experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled production machinery.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, S7/S5 PLCs and Siemens drives is advantageous.
• Knowledge of automation and control engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment and machinery through preventive and breakdown maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and equipment faults to minimise downtime.
• Analyse downtime data and identify root causes of recurring failures.
• Conduct RCA and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Perform electrical and automation troubleshooting involving PLCs, drives and control systems.
• Ensure safe working practices including LOTO during maintenance activities.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machines and equipment.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
• Support automation upgrade and modernization projects.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all plant equipment and machinery are maintained in good working condition through effective preventive and breakdown maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and equipment-related faults to minimise machine downtime.
• Analyse machine downtime data and identify root causes of recurring equipment failures.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Perform electrical and automation troubleshooting involving PLC, drives, control systems and industrial machinery.
• Ensure proper implementation of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and safe working practices during maintenance activities.
• Support the Plant Engineering Manager in the installation and commissioning of new machines and production equipment.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, production efficiency and maintenance processes.
• Support equipment upgrading, modernization and automation improvement projects.
• Implement and improve maintenance processes using SAP.
• Maintain accurate machine maintenance records, work instructions and technical documentation in accordance with ISO standards.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs including machine downtime, preventive maintenance compliance and equipment availability.
• Lead and develop maintenance technicians through technical training and knowledge sharing.
• Support spare parts management, procurement and maintenance of minimum stock levels.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support quality improvement programmes and recommend corrective actions for equipment-related quality issues.
• Take appropriate action, including stopping equipment/production when necessary, where safety or equipment abnormalities are identified.
• Provide maintenance support during shift coverage, weekends and on-call periods when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, manufacturing, equipment maintenance or industrial engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation.
• Proven experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled production machinery.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, S7/S5 PLCs and Siemens drives is advantage
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of automation and control engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be an advantage.
• Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Hands-on, proactive and willing to work closely with maintenance technicians and production teams.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
